Salem Sowdeswari College (SSC) was established in the year 1975.The foundation stones for the right wing building to accommodate degree courses were laid by his Excellency Thiru.K.K.Shaw, then Governor of Tamilnadu on 17.11.1975. The right wing and left wing buildings were declared open, by the then Chairman Amarar Thiru. T.N.K. Govindaraju Chettiar, under the Presidency of Thiru.J.K.K.Angappa Chettiar, Chairman, Managing Trustee and Secretary on 7.6.1976 and 12.6.1977 respectively. The first floor of the right and left wing buildings and the J.K.Kandasamy Chettiar, Memorial Main Building were declared open by Amarar Dr.Rajah Sir.Muthiah Chettiar, Rajah of Chettinad and pro-chancellor, Annamalai University on 23.6.1978.

Salem Sowdeswari College has a self-governing placement office devoted to endow placement assistance to the students through conducting on and off campus interviews. The aim of the cell is to ensure that the students to attain the knowledge and skills necessary for an effective job search. Career guidance for students finding it difficult to choose the suitable field of their careers is also given in our placement cell. It provides a career guidance counseling to the students and also conducts various workshops such as remedial program, soft skills and interview techniques for their successful career placement.
I Cant say like there is 100% placements in our college .Placements is average only.Mostly all the students placed .Few students who doesnt perform well in that ,Those students didnt get the job.
Superb college with good environment .I learned a lot of things here .
This College conducts so many events for students like intra college competitions and sports day e.t.c. This would gives us lot of joy .
Well known college by every one .Governament aided college .
Academics wise this is the best college .Faculty members are highly qualified .Teaching methods they are used is highly impressing .Teaching strategis are awesome .College has better winning percentage due to the quality of the faculty members.
Campus has a very good infrastructure.The campus is small,but updated library .The classroom facilites are really good in this campus.
Placement comapnies visiting our college is good ,but it depends on the students to crack and get into the company .
Academics wise this is the good college ,placements are moderate here .But ok .Management needs to improve a lot .
I enjoyed a lot here .Best place to study at reasonable fees .

Good college With great infrastructure ,Faculty are well experienced and knoeledgable .Placements are average here.
