JP College of Engineering, Tirunelveli was established under the Society of Daughters of Mary Immaculate and Collaborators (DMI) which was established in 1984 by Rev.Fr. J.E. Arul Raj OMI, at Keechalam, a remote village in Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu, India. The aim of the college is to inculcate technical knowledge and soft skills among rural students through student-centric learning process and make them as competent Engineers with professional ethics to face the global challenges, thus bridging the 'rural-urban divide.
